Kindergarten - Sixth Grade

The parishes of Mt. St. Peter, St. Joseph, and St. Mary in New Kensington maintain a joint agreement to provide several options for religious education.  St. Joseph and Mt. St. Peter parishes provide traditional classroom sessions for children in grades Kindergarten - 6.  St. Mary parish offers the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd using the Montessori principles of formation.  The reception of Confirmation and First Eucharist does not end your responsibility to provide for your child’s religious education.  This is a serious obligation of every Catholic parent.  Parents are the first and principle teacher s of the Faith.  Our children learn best by association and observation.  The atmosphere and attitudes conveyed at home are essential to a healthy development of the Catholic Faith.
