Catholic Daughters of the Americas Catholic Daughters of the Americas is the largest national organization of Catholic women in the world dedicated to strengthen their spiritual life through Christ and His Church. It was founded in 1903 by the Knights of Columbus in Utica, New York and is organized in 42 states, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Virgin Islands, Guam, and Saipan. We are dedicated to our patroness, the Blessed Mother. Our motto is Unity and Charity. Our colors are purple and gold. Our local Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court New Kensington No. 860 meets the second Wednesday of each month following the 6:15pm Mass at St. Joseph's Church. We meet at Mary Queen of Apostles School Cafeteria. We represent the six different Catholic churches in the area: St. Joseph's, St. Mary's, Mt. St. Peter's, All Saints, St. Vladimir's, and St. Margaret Mary's. Our Circle of Love program entails: Leadership, Spiritual Enhancement, Quality of Life, Youth, Education, Legislation, and Charitable Projects. Some of our local charities are Food Banks, the Hope Center, Poetry Contest, etc. It is a special blessing to be a Catholic Daughter. We wish to share this blessing with others. Answer our Lord's call with faith, generosity, and love by joining our local Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court New Kensington No. 860. We are currently celebrating our 80th Anniversary Year. Father Hertzog was our first Chaplain in 1924 and Father Larry Kulick is our present day Chaplain. For more information, please call Eleanor Chodelka, Regent at 724-337-8209. |
