Father Daniel L. Blout
Administrator 2008 to Present

Father Daniel L. Blout is the son of the late Ann L. (O’Hara) (Zamiska) and Stanley W. Blout.  He is a native of Masontown, Pennsylvania where he attended school in the Albert Gallatin Area School District.  He graduated from Gannon University in 1982 with a Bachelor Science degree in Chemistry.  During his time at Gannon he began to discern his vocation to the Diocesan priesthood and attended Saint Mark Seminary during his junior and senior years of College.  He attended Saint Vincent Seminary, Latrobe, Pennsylvania for his priestly formation where he received his Master of Art degree in Systematic Theology in 1985 and Master of Divinity Degree in 1986.

Father Blout was ordained a Roman Catholic priest on May 3, 1986 at the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral by Bishop William G. Connare.  His first two years of priesthood were dedication to serving the pastoral needs of Immaculate Conception Parish in Connellsville, Pennsylvania.  Beginning in 1988 he faithfully served the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral Church in Greensburg, Pennsylvania for 5 years as Parochial Vicar.  From 1992 through 2007 he served in various positions at Greensburg Central Catholic High School and Geibel Catholic High School.  During these years he continued his education earning a Master of Education Degree (M.Ed.) at Boston College in 1996 and Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) at Duquesne University in 2004.  Prior to assuming the position of President of both schools he was the school’s Chaplain, campus minister, Religious Studies teacher, Religious Studies Chair, and Vice Principal.

He was assigned to Saint Joseph Parish as its administrator on January 31, 2008.  Father Blout has fully embraced this new opportunity to serve in parish ministry.  He is dedicated to nurturing the faith with an emphasis on the wonderful spirit of prayer, dedication, service, and tradition of the community of Saint Joseph Parish.
