Sister Mary Carol Kardell, CSSF, Pastoral Associate at St. Joseph Parish, is a Felician Franciscan sister whose provincial house is in Coraopolis, PA. Sister was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. Sister Carol attended St. Cyprian Elementary School and St. Peter High School. Sister obtained her Bachelor and Master Degrees at Duquesne University; she is also certified as a principal in elementary education. 

Sister Carol visits the hospitalized parishioners, those in nursing and assisted living facilities, and the homebound. Sister coordinates the RCIA program, is a member of the Bereavement Team, works with the parish Fishers organization, and assists the pastor in any way needed. In her spare time, Sister enjoys listening to talk radio, reading mystery novels, and raising house plants.

Diane Painter
Director of Music Ministry

Diane Painter, Director of Music Ministry at St. Joseph Church, is a life-long member of the Parish. She began playing the organ here at St. Joseph Church during her years at St. Joseph Elementary School and later became the accompanist for the church choir. In 1994, after the departure of the previous choir director, Diane took over the role of the director as well as the accompanist. She built the choir up by tirelessly recruiting new members and immersing herself in finding suitable choral music. The fruits of this labor of love attest to her dedication and her leadership as the accolades for her choir continue to grow. Diane is responsible for the effective planning, coordination, and execution of music within the liturgical celebrations of the parish.

Diane lives in Lower Burrell with her husband Ralph. The Painters have three daughters: Michelle, Nicole, and Lauren; and three grandchildren: Ian, Allison, and Carley.
