Stewardship and
Development
Stewardship is a necessary expression of what we say we
believe. We commit a portion of our giving through our Parish
because it most clearly bears witness to the meaning and values we find at
the center of our lives.
Stewardship means:
-
Placing God first in our lives.
-
Acknowledging our Creator as the source of all we
have and all we are.
-
Putting our trust and faith in God, instead of
money and possessions.
-
Planning our giving.
-
Making an offering to God of the first and best
portion of all we receive.
Take a Step to
Sacrificial Giving
Every year, you have the opportunity to reflect on and reevaluate your
giving. This chart provides some guidelines as you decide on the
proportion of your income to give. You are asked to give the
appropriate percentage to our Parish, using the Sunday envelope, and give
an equal percentage to other charities.
-
Find your approximate household income on the left side of
the chart.
-
Move to the right along that line of the chart until you
find the amount you currently give weekly to our Parish.
-
Move straight up the column to find the percentage of your
income you currently give to our Parish.
-
Please consider taking a step--either by pledging at the
next higher level, or by pledging the percentage you choose as
appropriate.
-
You are asked to give an equal percentage to other
charities, such as Mission Sunday, Peter's Pence, Catholic Stewardship
Campaign, or the St. Vincent dePaul.
